Faye’s icons spawned from her need to express her adoration for the Saints while also spending creative time with her young daughter who was learning about them. Instead of pouring herself into paintings, she decided to cut out elements from old print ads that told the story of the Saints and then make canvases that question what it means to be an icon in the Western world.
